I’m pretty excited to be participating in Me Made May ’16. The last few years I’ve always had an excuse: I don’t have enough garments, I’m pregnant, I had a baby and can’t fit into anything, etc. This year I realized that I do have garments I’ve made, they do fit and I NEED to wear them more often than I do. I would say the only problem so far this year is the weather. I wanted to wear my shorts, dresses and skirts but so far it’s been a little too chilly for that. Oh well, maybe it will warm up in the next few weeks?
I will warn you that most of these are terrible angle mirror selfies. I didn’t realize just how hard it is to get a picture of your every day outfit. I don’t have the time or energy to setup the camera and take good pictures, then import them, get them on my phone and then onto Instagram. I honestly would give up on the whole thing if I had to do that. Oh, btw if you aren’t following me on Instagram – you totally should! Besides lots of sewing pictures I tend to upload pictures of my baby and my dog. They are fun to look at! Follow me here (username: amynxdx)

This is Jalie 3132 – Nursing and Regular Tees and Tunics. I blogged about the hoodie version of this last year here. Once I figured out the correct sizing I kind of went nuts with this pattern. I made 2 hoodies and 4 shirts in the matter of a couple of months. I will say this pattern is flat out amazing. It comes together so fast and it’s great for nursing moms. I still wear these all the time. I really need to do an update post about the shirts. You can also make them without the nursing option and they would be a great basic.

May 2 of #mmmay16 This started out as a oversized tshirt I got from being a #kickstarter supporter of the #veronicamars movie. It’s super soft and amazing but I don’t wear men’s xl shirts. So I used the #patternsforpirates #slimfitraglan pattern to make it wearable. I haven’t blogged about this pattern but I will be in the next few weeks. This is one of three I made. #thatssewamy
This is Patterns For Pirates Slim Fit Raglan. I haven’t blogged about this one yet, which you’ll see is the case with a bunch of my #mmmay16 garments. As the description above says this is an upcycle. I like the idea of taking clothes I rarely wear and bettering them 🙂

I wish you could see this better! This one needs to be blogged about also. This is a pattern I made myself (and hope to release one day!) and is a basic hoodie jacket. I love wearing hoodies with tank tops underneath, that’s kinda my thing (see my ‘Amy’ logo? She’s wearing a black tank top for a reason). This hoodie is slim fit and long, it goes in at the waist and hugs your hips for a flattering silhouette.

May 4 #mmmay16 this is an up cycle hoodie. I bought this in the little boys department and was solid green. I chopped it up and drafted new extra long sleeves and drafted a hood. Another upcycle. I love me some Mario but apparently Mario clothing is aimed at younger kids. Well guess what?! I can just buy the XL size, hack it up and create my own flattering fit Mario gear! Take that clothing makers!! Isn’t that the best part of being able to sew? Making it your own? Everything you see in white is what I added. I made the sleeves extra long for my monkey arms and the hood bigger since I have a big noggin’ compared to a child’s XL LOL I love this thing!

Two for one here and big shocker – I haven’t blogged about either of them! The cardigan is the Scarf Neck Cardigan by Swoon Patterns. This one is FREE! I really like this but sometimes feel like it adds bulk to me. In the picture above it looks slimming, so maybe it was all in my head? The underneath shirt is the Layer Me Up Shirt by Patterns For Pirates.

Look, something I actually blogged about! I blogged about this one recently. It’s another Patterns For Pirates (obviously, you all need to check out their patterns, I’m obsessed) shirt and this one is the Sweet Tee. Paired it with my awesome Harajuku Lovers hoodie.

Lastly, I wore these BurdaStyle pants that I made long before baby, I think even before I was pregnant. I honestly can’t even remember now. I need to take the tummy band in a bit and then I’ll wear them more. I like them, they are a fun print and super comfy. I’ll make another pair and then blog about them.
Hopefully you enjoyed my little recap. This whole thing is making me realize I seriously have a lot to add to the blog. It’s not that I don’t want to post about them, it’s just hard to find time to 1. get my hair/face on (when you have a kid it’s hard to find time to even shower) 2. find time to take the pictures and make sure they don’t look awful 3. import & edit said pictures 4. use my brain to write the blog! Ha, that being said, yes it seems I don’t have time for my blog, but I am determined to get better at this whole thing!
You had a great MMM week! You had makeup on in almost every shot – that’s better than me LOL. The upcycles are super cool too.
My photos were bad selfies with weird angles, darkness, and etc. I’m not a fan of daily shots 😉
