Fabric Haul

all fabrics

I went to Jo-Ann Fabric’s over President’s Day weekend and they were having 50% off their clearance section – SCORE! I couldn’t pass up the amazing offers and great fabrics. I’m not sure what I’m going to make with all of these but I have some ideas. Nothing better than getting a massive deal!

Does anyone know how often they have this type of sale? I need to find out so I can take advantage again 🙂

  2. I looove Jo-Ann’s! From the time I’ve been there it seems like they have 50% off things all the time. They almost always have some kind of great fabric sale. It’s not always the clearance, but they will have different types of fabrics for sale.
Next time you go ask to sign up for their little club thing if you haven’t already. They will send you coupons in the mail, and an email newsletter with savings. When you first sign up they send you a coupon for 20% off your entire order.

ALSO, FYI: They take competitors coupons. And they will take multiple coupons. They will only take ONE Jo-Ann coupon per order, but they will take as many competitor coupons as you have, even if they are the same coupon. For example, Hobby Lobby has a weekly coupon and it’s almost always 40% off one item. I had the coupon saved on my ipod touch, and my mom pulled it up on her phone. Same coupon. The woman ringing us up told us they would take as many as we had because they can’t scan the competitors coupons, they just type in the discount, so as long as you have them they will use them. So I ended up using a Jo-Ann’s coupon ,the two Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons, and my mom’s 15% teacher discount card. With buying things on sale and the discounts I ended up spending $18 on almost $50 worth of stuff.

The only time they don’t stack is if they are coupons for your total purchase. They will only use one of those at a time. But man I could basically print out 100 of those hobby lobby coupons and go in and get 40% off on 100 different items. Of course it may just depend on the cashier you have, but they generally seem to be more than happy to put in coupons.

Okay, I rambled. But it’s fun getting fabric and things for a huge discount. I do the same thing when I go to Jo-Ann’s. I’ll buy like 1/2 or 1/4 a yard of fabric that I like, with no idea what I’ll do with it. I just know it looks cool and I know I’ll find a use at some point.

Now I’m all excited about fabrics and things. I need to sleep, I’m sewing tomorrow/today with my friend. yeeeah!

    1. I have the Jo-Ann app and they send me stuff in the mail. So far they’ve always been super helpful with me using coupons. The only thing is it has to be regular price, so something on sale I can’t use the coupon – but sometimes the sale is better anyways! I spend way too much money in there LOL I have started taking pictures of fabric I like and waiting a week or two to come up with a good use. If I don’t have a good use I try to pass on it. That doesn’t always work LOL

So what are you going to be making today? You’ll have to be sure to show me!!!

  3. Amy!! I am so impressed with your work. You are amazingly talanted! Love it!
