I decided to make this top solely based upon the view B picture, I love it! I’ve never made a peter pan collar and I have always wanted to. I also loved the fact that there is a sew-a-long video with this pattern. The video is actually really great and has tons of helpful tips. I love that Professor Pincushion (seriously, how cute is that name?!) really walks you through everything, even how to read the pattern, sizing, etc. I highly recommend it and it’s great for anyone just learning how to sew.

I typically don’t wear shirts that are tight around the neck because I have poor posture and they always feel like they are choking me. While making this I made sure to adjust for that. I added about an inch to the back pattern piece and took away a little on the front. I have to say that it actually fits me really well, no choking! I didn’t think to add to the actual collar – that’s why there is a little gap in the back and some extra random black fabric. Oh well!

I have no clue wtf is going on with my hair

I used the same stretch sateen that I’ve used in 101 other garments. I can’t help it though, it’s my ALL TIME FAVORITE FABRIC! Just in case you want to buy it: Daytime Drama – Dot Black & White Sateen. It has the perfect amount of stretch and looks super expensive in person.

I think it turned out really great. I decided against sleeves and just used extra wide black bias tape instead. The black really outlines it and makes it “pop”. I’m also thinking about adding some belt loops because a skinny black belt would look fantastic with it. The only down side is that I feel like I school teacher wearing it, I guess I’m a little more used to showing my chest LOL.

Either way, great pattern and very simple!
