I saw a testing call for these pants and immediately knew I wanted in. I’m excited that I was accepted and had the pleasure of meeting some cool new people and making a badass pair of pants.
These are the Indu Wrap Pants from Designer Stitch*. They are described as an easy wearing jersey pant with 2 different styles. You can make them with the “wings” or without. You can also make one leg with a wing and one without. There are a lot of options for these.
My measurements are waist 31 and hips 40. According to the pattern I was in-between waist sizes, so I sized down. I figured this would fine since it’s a knit pattern. I made a straight size 4, no grading and the fit is perfect. There’s also elastic in the waist, which helps keep everything from riding down. I love the addition of the elastic and will be adding it to any future knit pants.
The only alteration I made was adding 2″ to the bottom hem. If you’ve read any of my other pants reviews you know I do this with all of them as I’m 5’10”. This fabric can grow a bit in length since it’s a stretchy knit but I haven’t had any issues. Just be aware though.
I love all the ways you can wear these pants! So fun. The fabrics are double brushed poly from my stash. I wanted to color block because I thought it would look awesome when wrapped.
I plan on making the version without the wings also. I have a similar pair of pants that I really love. Only downside to this pattern is that they don’t have pockets. This could a very simple hack though.
I realize these pants aren’t for everyone but I love how funky and fun they are! But overall, easy and quick sew. The directions are simple and the drafting is accurate. Another bonus – the pattern is on sale currently!!
* affiliate link – I did receive this pattern for free in order to test. I paid for my own fabric and notions.
I love them…looks great on you ❤️
