I’m back! I told you not to get used to me posting weekly. Life gets in the way. I blame Whole30, I spent all of March just prepping food, cooking and cleaning it up. But it was eye-opening and completely beneficial. Enough of that, onto the make!
First off, pine cones – not dog poop! Second, this is the The Lady Skater from Kitschy Coo. There are 3 variations but the only differences are the sleeve lengths. It’s got a fitted bodice, scoop neck and knee-length skirt (unless you are tall)
I actually made this last summer and have worn it 1,000 times and just realized yesterday that I never blogged about it. I don’t know how that happened because I love this dress! It’s perfect for showcasing prints, like Lilo and Elvis Stitch. I can’t remember where I got this fabric? My assumption is that it’s from a customs group. It’s a cotton/lycra knit. When I made this my measurements were high bust: 35 and high waist: 32 so I went with a size 4 on top and a size 5 on bottom. (In these pictures my waist is 30.5 – thanks Whole30!)
I added 1″ to the skirt length – I’m 5’10” and I added pockets. Every single dress needs pockets. I used pockets from another pattern I had sitting around. I know this adds bulk in the wrong spot but I can’t function without pockets.
That’s it! I love this pattern and have actually made 3 and plan on making 300 more. I also made the little girls version and will be blogging about it soon.
