Since summer is coming up I decided I should make some shorts, and not just any kind of shorts – jean shorts! Here are the Maritime Shorts from Grainline Studio. If you remember, I have actually made these before but in a home dec fabric: Owl Shorts. I really like how those turned out, so I figured making a jean version would be great. (FYI: I tried to play with the pictures to lighten so up so you can see more detail)
The pattern is a PDF and costs $12.00. The difficulty is a 3 of 5. I would agree with this because I got stuck on the zipper part. I know last time I made these I said the same thing and said I would use different instructions the next time around, but I thought I was a more experienced sewist this time around and the fly would be no problem! I may have a lot more garments under my belt, but the zip fly on this was still confusing! Just read it slowly and look at the pictures. I think most reviews I’ve read of these shorts say the same thing – BUT that doesn’t mean this is a bad pattern, sometimes zippers are just difficult!

I love then…your a Hot Mommy…..and little Nico looking cool in his outfit…love u mom ❤️
Thanks Mom 🙂 I love you! (I need to post about his outfit!!!)
I come here to see your sewing makes but I also come just to see cute little Nico growing up 🙂 Looove your shorts. I will just have to break down and buy this pattern – I’ve been eyeing it for a long time now. For jean zippers I use the closet case files – ginger sew along. super helpful 😀 http://closetcasefiles.com/ginger-sewalong-pt-8-sewing-a-fly-front-zipper/
